Sacred Skin, the first English language book on Thailand’s sacred tattoos, Sak Yant, published by Visionary World, is one year old today! It took photographer and co-author Aroon Thaewchatturat and me more than a year to put Sacred Skin together and it remains our most successful illustrated book publication.
Happy anniversary and many thanks to all the people who contributed to the book, the many reviewers and thousands of readers.
The second print run is imminent. Stocks of the first edition are running low and sales remain strong!
Sacred Skin has garnered more than 30 reviews in the past twelve months, including a three page feature in TIME Magazine.
Sacred Skin has also been subject of two documentaries, one on French/ German channel arte as part of the cultural program Metropolis, the other with German broadsheet Die Zeit.
