Asia Unique – Photobook series with Aroon Thaewchatturat

Check out the top travel photographers working in Asia today with a new series of books called Asia Unique. Published under the Red Banana Books imprint, the books highlight the diversity of Asia by focusing on one specific topic – the first three titles are called Doors, Hands and Catch, the last title referring to fishing.
The print quality and reproduction are great and the small format, hard-cover, full-color titles are not just an ideal gift for lazy armchair travelers, but also a document which anyone who has traveled around the continent will be able to relate to. Photographs of elaborately decorated doors of palaces and homes from Mongolia to Rajasthan, of the hands of holy men, gamblers and cooks from Japan to Nepal, and of the daily life and toil of fishermen from China to Cambodia invite readers to get a distinct visual idea about just how diverse, colorful and dynamic Asia is in the 21st century. Throughout the books, quotes and proverbs from Asia, related to the specific book topic, compliment the stunning images.
Each image is accompanied by a brief caption in the back of the book and photographers as diverse as Hans Kemp, the brainchild behind the series, Gerhard Joren, Luke Duggleby, Nana Chen and Aroon Thaewchatturat, along with many others familiar with the region, are credited.
Publisher Kemp has lived in Asia for almost two decades and is well-known for his best-selling title Bikes of Burden, a collection of images of motorbikes in Vietnam. Doors, Hands and Catch are available at all good bookshops in Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong.
