UBUD Writers & Readers Festival Diary by Aroon Thaewchatturat

Indonesia Writer´s Corner

This week, I am at the UBUD Writers and Readers Festival in Bali to present my books Sacred Skin (with co-author and photographer Aroon Thaewchatturat, published by Visionary World) and The Cambodian Book of the  Dead (published by Crime Wave Press). I will also be taking part in several panel discussions.

Owner of Visionary World and co-founder of Crime Wave Press, Hans Kemp is here as well, as is long term collaborator and film maker Marc Eberle who is shooting for a documentary on The Cambodian Space Project, a Khmer rock band which will perform in UBUD later this week.

I will be posting images from the festival, shot by Aroon Thaewchatturat every day.

Particular highlights so far have been talking books with Nick Cave at the opening dinner, meeting John Pilger, sharing two panel talks with Chinese RocknRoll expert Jonathan Campbell and hanging out with Srey Thy and Julien Poulson from The Cambodian Space Project. That and interacting with many other writers and of course countless readers and book enthusiasts.
