If book learning was the measure of a spiritually evolved person, I would have stayed in the Catholic Church. In all of my years in Catholic school, I was never once spiritually inspired by a nun or priest but they were well educated. I hardly think meeting one sadhu who may be a charlatan gives a person a right to dismiss millions of naga sadhus from a centuries old tradition by saying they offer no spiritual value to India.

I didn't know anything about Hinduism before I typed the word "Mahabharata" into my google info connection. I was curious to find out about it. Your article or reporting on this holy wild men of India was just facinating. Really, I had no idea about this going on in the world. I did meet a Sadhu once, in Portland Oregon, USA, he put the entire audience to "sleep" actually mass hypnotized these people, about 45 people and me in the audience. My eyes began to twitch and tickle and so I jumped up and left the theatre. He came where I was waiting for my friend, who paid my way to this theatre, and he said. "You can't be hypnotized, that's why your eyes bothered you. Understand that I am giving these business men and women who come to my lecture a good rest. They have a lot of stress and in about 20 minutes I will wake them and they will feel refreshed."...He was very tall, wore a turbin and had expensive clothes, white hair, quite handsome. He said he was a Sadhu, a teacher of teachers. I was impressed.
