Krom - The Sound of Cambodia
We´ve had Dengue Fever, the Cambodian Space Project are just round the corner, now check out Krom, a brand new musical missive from Cambodia.
I Walked the Line is a just released song and video put together by the people from The Mekong Sessions, the promoter who´s putting on the Leonard Cohen show in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh on November 27th.
After a 40 year hiatus, crammed with war and genocide, and a decade or so of relative peace, Cambodia, with a little help from friends, is beginning to produce great sounds again. And the video looks fantastic too.

I agree. Just saw Dengue Fever and thought they were pretty good, but a bit WestCoast USA…Krom has a distinctly Khmer sound without the West. Loved the female voice. Yeah..That video, with the lovely elderly lady adding a touch of class to the whole thing. Bring on some more!
